  2. Hi. I posted a comment on your Voices of Fibromyalgia post, but I’m not sure if you would get to see it. Sometimes there are so many comments on the posts there, that I don’t get to read them all. So I wanted to post it here too. Here was my comment: Have you tried B-12 shots or sublingual? The blood test for B-12 deficiency is not reliable. A lot of people have difficulty absorbing B-12 in the gut from foods, or supplements that are swallowed. Some doctors try to only give the shots once a month, but that is not often enough if you are B-12 deficient, hence causing these symptoms. B-12 is a water soluble vitamin that is not stored in your body. So basically what your body doesn’t absorb within a certain time period, is excreted in your urine. You can get the shot as often as every few days, if you can find someone to give it that often. Some weight loss facilities will give them as often as once a week, without a prescription. Or, you could try the sub-lingual 5000mcg. Put it between your cheek and gum until it fully dissolves. Do this every day. These are the best I have found http://superiorsourcevitamins.com/?s=B-12+5000+mc

    1. Thank you so much for the input! I use nutritional yeast, which is fortified with B vitamins, but as a vegan, I’m likely deficient of the Bs. I’ll check the local co-op for supplements. Thank you!

  3. Read the article about you in the PNJ today! As a fibromyalgia-challenged lady who has spent two years recovering from spinal fusion surgery, I was so encouraged by your thoughts on exercise. I too, have had to give up many things because of this condition. However, I returned to running a year ago, in spite of many discouraging remarks about the unlikelihood that I could continue. Trying to explain to others why someone who is in so much pain insists on running has been difficult. Your sentiments on “why” were so personally encouraging. Can’t wait to spend time checking out your blog. Keep on running!

    1. Marilynn, Thank you for reading the article and my blog. I’m sorry about your spinal fusion. There will always be discouragers. Sometimes they have a good point, but I believe that we have to live our own lives. Best of luck to you with your return to running! 🙂
